What’s the difference between an ice cream dipper and spade? An ice cream dipper is the same as a traditional scooper. You simply reach into your freezer and scoop out perfectly portioned amounts. A spade, on the other hand, comes in handy when your ice cream tub is running low. You can use the spade to scrape the sides of the container to retrieve excess ice cream, so none will go to waste.
